Dwaine LeRoy Keifer
Dwaine LeRoy Keifer, age 88, of Montevideo, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on October 18, 2025, at his residence at the Clarkfield Care Center.
Dwaine was born on September 27, 1937, in Montevideo, MN, to Clayton I. and Hazel (Marholz) Keifer. He graduated from Montevideo High School. On November 10, 1956, he married the love of his life, Karen Stangeland of Dawson. Together they shared 68 wonderful years and raised six children together.
Throughout his career, Dwaine worked in construction alongside his father, later at GTA Feed and the Green Company. He spent many years as a pipeline inspector, ultimately serving as Chief Pipeline Inspector. Dwaine also volunteered on the local Rescue Squad for over 20 years, dedicating countless hours to helping others.
A proud Minnesotan, Dwaine was a devoted Minnesota Vikings and Minnesota Twins fan. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting, fishing. He had a big heart and a deep love for animals. He was a member of Salem Lutheran Church. Dwaine will be remembered for his love for his wife and family, and his kind heart.
He is survived by his wife, Karen Keifer; his children, Sherri Landmark, Pam Cushing, Wade Keifer, Jeff Keifer, Sandra Foley, and Kelly Schreurs; 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and 7 great-great-grandchildren; his brother, Robert Keifer; and his sister, Sharon Ellifson.
A private celebration of Dwaine’s life will take place in the future. Cremation has taken place. Memorials may be directed to any Minnesota-based children’s cancer charity in his memory.
