Edgar David Aviles Rios was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1975, in Mexico City, Mexico, the third son born to Juan Raul Aviles Zuniga and Susana Rios Caballero. Edgar was baptized in his Catholic faith in Mexico and received his education, graduating high school in 1998. He continued his education attaining his Veterinary Zootechnician, Master of Science Degree in Nutrition in Large Animals at the UNAM in Mexico City. Edgar was a lifelong learner; he was always eager to learn new things! Briefly, Edgar met a sweet girl named, Dulce Belem Gutierrez Hernandez, and ten years later, they reconnected and became fast friends. Always being a man who knew what he wanted, six months after their friendship turned into a relationship, Edgar and Dulce were engaged and they were wed on November 12, 2016 in Mexico. They expanded their family to welcome their son, Santiago Daniel Aviles Gutierrez. They remained in Mexico until 2018, when the family moved to Morris, Minnesota so that Edgar could begin his career with Moore Lean; now known as El Hub; as an animal breeder in addition to any and all tasks he could complete. They completed their family of four, welcoming their daughter, Anne Nicole Aviles Gutierrez.

Edgar was a member of Assumption Catholic Church in Morris, where he received the sacrament of his first Holy Communion. Edgar enjoyed watching TV, especially Star Wars – saying that he was ‘just a fan’ would be an understatement! He loved cooking with his kids, making pizza and cakes. A favorite trip with his family was to Disney World – he relished in the time he spent with them – even if he was most excited for the Star Wars exhibit! Edgar was a very responsible and honest man. He kept his word in everything he did and sealed those promises with a handshake. Most importantly, Edgar was an excellent husband, father, and friend. His favorite hobby was being a father, and he loved to see the progress that his children made in their activities, Santiago in soccer and Anne in dance.

He is survived by his loving wife: Dulce Belem Gutierrez Hernandez; and their children Santiago Daniel Aviles Gutierrez and Anne Nicole Aviles Gutierrez, all of Morris, Minnesota; his parents: Juan Raul Aviles Zaniga and Susana Rios Caballero of Mexico; two brothers: Raul Aviles and Carlo Aviles, both of Mexico; father-in-law and mother-in-law: Jaime Gutierrez and Gloria Hernandez of Mexico; brothers-in-law: Israel Gutierrez and Ricardo Gutierrez both of Mexico; and several extended family and friends in both Morris and Mexico.

Edgar is preceded in death by his grandparents: Isaias Aviles and Alberta Zuniga and Gaston Rios and Dolores Caballero.

Arrangements are with Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, MN.
