Education is Big Part of Minnesota State Budget
(Learfield News/St. Paul, MN) — Minnesota lawmakers can get work on the state budget now that the Senate and House will both be back in session this week.
Republican Senator Julia Coleman of Waconia says schools are one of the state’s biggest expenses.
She says, “I think that education is one of those pillars where we should do everything, we can to make sure our dollars are not only robustly given but smartly given.”
The next budget forecast comes out the first week in March.
Legislators have until May 19th to pass a new two-year budget.
