Edwards scores 26 points as Timberwolves beat Spurs 106-92

SAN ANTONIO, TX – Anthony Edwards scored 26 points as the Minnesota Timberwolves cruised to a 106-92 victory over the San Antonio Spurs on Sunday night.

Nickeil Alexander-Walker contributed 17 points off the bench for Minnesota, who have now won two straight games and five of their last seven.

For San Antonio, Victor Wembanyama posted 20 points and 12 rebounds, while Jeremy Sochan added a double-double with 17 points and 15 rebounds. Harrison Barnes also scored 17 points in the loss.

The Spurs cut Minnesota’s lead to just 61-57 after opening the second half with a 20-9 run, but the Timberwolves responded strongly, outscoring San Antonio 30-22 in the final quarter. Despite their earlier comeback against Portland, the Spurs could not rally again.

Minnesota capitalized on San Antonio’s 10 turnovers and earned 13 second-chance points, building a commanding 16-point lead by halftime.

Next up, the Timberwolves will host the Knicks, while the Spurs will take on Atlanta at home on Thursday.
