ELECTION RESULTS
Preliminary results show more than 65-percent of the 96 school ballot questions in Minnesota passed in Tuesday’s elections. The Minnesota School board association is reporting 63-percent of building bonds were approved. 60-percent of capital improvement levies passed and 69-percent of operating levies were supported by local voters. Local results include:
Both questions in Nicollet passed – Question 1 412 yes votes, 186 no votes. Question 2 passed 379 yes, 218 no.
Belle Plaine passed 1491 yes, 668 no
New Prague passed 3927 yes, 2049 no
Madelia passed Question 1 – 494 yes, 220 no, Question 2 420 yes, 283 no
Cleveland passed 517 yes,465 no
Referenda that failed – Sibley East failed 849 no, 558 yes
Tri City United failed 1088 no, 926 yes
Marshall failed 1647 no 1415 yes
Jackson County Central – both questions failed, Question 1 939 no ,734 yes, Question 2 1009 yes, 666 no.
Other results – Incumbent Shanon Nowell regains the St. Peter mayoral seat over Chuck Zieman 1191 votes to 418.
