Elizabeth Jane “Betty” Sickler

Elizabeth Jane “Betty” Sickler, age 77, of Farmington, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, at Fairview Ridges in Burnsville.

Betty was born on July 16, 1948 to Angeline (Binfet) and Percy Ryman in Hoven, SD. She attended school in Redfield, SD graduating in 1966.

While attending National College of Business in Rapid City, SD, Betty met Dennis Sickler. The two were united in marriage at St. Bernard’s Church in Redfield, SD on August 26, 1967. They lived in Regent, ND before moving to South St. Paul, MN in 1971. In 1975, they settled in Farmington, MN where they lived for 50 years. Betty and Dennis were the proud parents of three children, Cory, Chad and Carrie, and four grandchildren, Hailey, Steven, Jeffrey and Angie.

Over the years, Betty worked at the Empire Super Club, as a medical assistant for Dr. Pitzele’s pediatric clinic in West St. Paul, MN and the YMCA childcare in Eagan, MN.

Her hobbies and interests over the years included crafting, line dancing, two step and three step dancing, book club, garden club, bingo, doing puzzles and the color purple. Most importantly though, she enjoyed spending time with friends and family and her beloved dog, Zandy.

Betty is survived by her children Cory (Chris) Sickler of Northfield, Chad (Julie) Sickler of Rosemount, and Carrie (Jeff) Kubes of Veseli; grandchildren Hailey Sickler, Steven Sickler, Jeffrey Kubes and Angie Kubes; brother Ron Ryman; brothers and sisters-in-law; nieces and nephews; and her dog, Zandy.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Sickler; parents Angeline and Percy Ryman; mother and father-in-law Viola and Albert Sickler; and brother Gary Ryman.

The family wishes to express gratitude to the entire staff at The Timbers of Apple Valley for all their care and compassion.

Mass of Christian Burial for both Dennis (2020) and Elizabeth will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Veseli. Visitation will be from 4-6 PM, Friday, October 24, at Bierman, Benson & Langehough Funeral Home in Northfield. Visitation will continue for one hour prior to mass at the church. Burial will follow mass at St. John’s Cemetery in Veseli. A reception will be held at the Lonsdale American Legion following burial.
