Ex-MN Volleyball Coach Gets 400 Months for Production of Child Pornography
(Learfield News/Minneapolis, MN) — A former volleyball coach from Minnetonka will spend more than 33 years in federal prison for production of child pornography.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 33-year-old Dorian Barrs coerced and persuaded girls to engage in sexual activity with him and produce and send him sexually explicit material.
Investigators have identified at least 19 minor victims and said 14 were being coached by Barrs.
He was an assistant coach at Maple Grove High School from 2020 to 2024 and coached the Minnesota Select private volleyball club.
U.S. District Judge Nancy E. Brasel told the court at Barrs’ sentencing, “this case represents every parent’s nightmare.”
