Extra Lines and Overlimit Reported From Area Anglers
The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources continues to see anglers with an overlimit of walleyes and angling with extra lines.
According to Conservation Officer Ben Huener in Roseau, investigations for the week included garbage dumped on the wildlife management area and state forest. He says violations encountered included anglers found in possession of an overlimit of walleyes and angling with an extra line. Huener says assistance was also given attempting to capture a couple of orphaned bear cubs.
Conservation Officer Tony Hams in Warroad says anglers are reporting success with a lot of big walleye still being caught. Violations encountered were walleye overlimit, no license in possession, angling without a license, and angling with extra lines.
Meanwhile, Conservation Officer Bobby Stringer in Thief River Falls reports an active week with multiple nuisance-bear incidents. Enforcement actions for the week included failure to have a lifesaving device onboard a watercraft and multiple instances of operation of both class I and class II ATVs on the road or road rights-of-way.
