FAIRFAX MAN ARRESTED AFTER HIGH-SPEED MOTORCYCLE CHASE

The Blue Earth County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Fairfax man Wednesday night after he led officers on a chase that reached speeds of 160 miles per hour.  Authorities say just after 9:45 pm, they spotted a motorcycle driven by 23-year-old David James Ruter of rural Fairfax going 90 miles per hour eastbound on Highway 60 near Lake Crystal.  Deputies say Ruter accelerated and led the deputy on a  pursuit when a traffic stop was attempted.  Ruter reached speeds of 160 miles per hour before he lost control and crashed in the grassy median.  He was taken into custody with resistance.  Ruter is in the Blue Earth County Jail on charges including driving after suspension.   The pursuit went about 10 miles total and authorities say no one was hurt.
