FATAL CRASH NEAR BROWNTON

A Waconia man was killed in a crash between a Honda Civic and a semi Sunday morning just before 8 am on Highway 212 at Tagus Avenue west of Brownton.  The state patrol says the Honda was driven by 60-year-old Wade Halvorson of Waconia.  He was pronounced dead at the scene.  The semi was driven by  39-year-old Jerod Jakel of Sacred Heart.  He wasn’t hurt but one of his three passengers, 5-year-old McKinlee Jakel of Sacred Heart was taken to Hutchinson Health Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.  The Brownton Fire Department, Allina Ambulance and McLeod County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
