Federal Agent Shoots Man in North Minneapolis
(Learfield News/Minneapolis, MN) — The U.S. Department of Homeland Security says a man was shot in the leg by a federal immigration agent Wednesday night in north Minneapolis, triggering a tense crowd and protests.
City officials say the man’s injuries are not life-threatening and again called for ICE to leave the state.
DHS says the shooting happened after a targeted traffic stop involving a man from Venezuela, who fled, crashed, and struggled with agents before two others joined in with a shovel and broom handle.
The shooting comes one week after an ICE agent killed Renee Good, fueling ongoing protests and lawsuits over the federal surge.
