Section Girl’s Basketball:
2A-St Mary’s advances to the final four with a 78 to 45 win over USC, the Knights will play Martin County West, the Mavericks defeat Springfield 47 to 18, BOLD holds off Cedar Mountain 62 to 55 and will play Sleepy Eye, the Indians slowly pulled away from BLHS and pick up a 61 to 47 win. The Semi’s will be played Monday night at Gustavus.
2AA-Jan/Wal/Pem defeats St Clair 58 to 42 and will play Glencoe/Silver Lake, the Panthers defeat Central 63 to 44, Tri City United was a 76 to 55 winner over Belle Plaine, NRHEG eliminates Wat/Ely/Mor 75 to 42. Semi’s will be Monday at Minnesota State.
3AA-Minnewaska upsets top seed New London/Spicer 42 to 36 and advances to the championship game next Thursday. Minnewaska will play Fairmont, the Cardinals defeat Jackson County Central 78 to 46.
Section Boy’s Basketball:
3A play in games-MaCCray eliminates Yellow Medicine East 73 to 68,Adrian/Ellsworth was a60 to 46 winner over Red Rock Central, Lakeview was a67 to 25 winner over Canby and Edgerton was a 63 to 44 winner over heron Lake/Okabena/fulda.
MIAC Men’s Basketball:
Carleton knocks top seed Gustavus out of the tournament with a 75 to 64 win and will head to Collegeville on Saturday to play St John’s. The Johnnies defeated Hamline 72 to 54.
MIAC Women’s Basketball:
Bethel deefeats St Benedict 79 to 50 and will host Gustavus saturday afternoon, the Gusties defeat Hamline 71 to 35,
