FIRE AT AMPI PLANT

New Ulm Fire Department was called to  the AMPI plant on Center Street Friday morning.  The call came in around 11:25.  Fire officials say it was contained to the main electrical panel and was put out within 30 minutes.  Crews ventilated the building and officials say there was smoke damage to the building.  No one was hurt.  A cause is under investigation.  Firefighters were on the scene for about  90 minutes.
