Fire Destroys Meeker County Church

Fire destroyed a church in Meeker County early this morning (Thursday) northeast of Cosmos.

The Sheriff’s Office says at about 1:30am, they received a report from a passerby driving on Highway 4 saying he saw a glow from the area of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church of Cosmos on 145th Street. The passerby then checked the area and found the church engulfed in flames.

Authorities say the church is a total loss.

No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
