FIRM CHOSEN TO PREPARE NEW ULM’S STRATEGIC PLAN

The New Ulm City Council chose a firm to prepare New Ulm’s first Strategic Plan.  Bolton and Menk was chosen because of their plan to engage the community in the development of the plan.  The contract says that Bolton and Menk will not exceed $94,956 for their work on the plan.   They were chosen from eight firms.  City Manager Chris Dalton says they want to hear from residents on what they feel the strategies and goals under the city’s priorities should be.  Dalton also said the strategic plan and the current comprehensive plan that is being worked on could co-exist because they are two different documents, one being how you operate, the other is how you develop.  A revised comprehensive plan could go in front of the City Council by the first meeting in June.
