Five Injured in Single Vehicle Accident

Five people were injured in a single vehicle accident Monday in Polk County. 

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Rick Steven Garland, (48) of Pinehurst, Idaho lost control of the 2024 Ford E-350 he was driving on Highway 2. According to the State Patrol report, the westbound vehicle entered the ditch and struck a MN-DOT road sign in Huntsville Township. 

Three juvenile passengers and two adult passengers sustained injuries troopers at the scene described as non-life threatening. Garland and another adult passenger suffered no apparent injury.

The injured were taken to Altru Hospital Grand Forks. One of the children and one adult were not wearing a seat-belt at the time of the accident reported just after 6pm.

Officials say alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
