FIVE RECENT CASES OF AVIAN FLU IN MINNESOTA
The state Board of Animal Health is monitoring recent cases of highly pathogenic avian influenza in Minnesota. Three cases of bird flu were detected in late November in commercial turkey operations in Meeker County, affecting nearly 300,000 birds. There were two cases in backyard flocks in Martin County. These are the first cases in Minnesota since July. Ag officials in Iowa recently detected cases in two counties in the northwest corner of the state.
