Forsberg’s two goals, two assists lead Predators over Wild 6-2

NASHVILLE, TN – Filip Forsberg delivered a standout performance with two goals and two assists, propelling the Nashville Predators to a 6-2 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night. Colton Sissons, Steven Stamkos, Fedor Svechkov, and Brady Skjei also contributed goals, while Juuse Saros made 27 saves in net. Roman Josi added two assists to the Predators’ offensive effort.

The Wild saw goals from Matt Boldy and David Jiricek, with Boldy also adding an assist. Marc-Andre Fleury was busy in goal, stopping 32 shots, but Minnesota extended their losing streak to three games, having won only one of their last five.

The game got off to a rocky start for Nashville as they trailed early due to Jiricek’s goal. However, the Predators quickly took control with goals from Sissons and Forsberg, and the first period also saw three fights, adding some extra intensity to the match.

Stamkos extended Nashville’s lead early in the second period, and although Boldy responded with a goal to cut the deficit to two, the Wild couldn’t gain any further ground. Forsberg scored again late in the third period, marking his sixth goal in the last five games, before Skjei sealed the win with an empty-net goal.

Minnesota had previously won both meetings between the teams earlier in the season, both in their home arena, but they were unable to complete a season sweep.

Nashville, who struggled through much of the first half of the season, is now on a roll with three consecutive wins, two of which have come against playoff contenders—Minnesota and the Vegas Golden Knights.

Looking ahead, the Wild will travel to Colorado to face the Avalanche on Monday night, while the Predators will host the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday.
