Frost Add Six Players Via Draft

(Minnesota News Network- Ottawa) — The two-time Professional Women’s Hockey League champion Minnesota Frost added six players to their roster with last night’s draft. Minnesota chose defender Kendall Cooper of Quinnipiac with the sixth overall pick, followed by forward Abby Hustler of St. Lawrence in the second round. The Frost selected St. Lawrence forward Anna Segedi in the third round and U-Conn defender Ava Rinker in round four. Minnesota tabbed forward Vanessa Upson from Mercyhurst in the fifth round and defender Brooke Becker of Providence in the sixth and final round. In other draft news, Golden Gopher star Ella Huber was chosen in the second round by Boston, while her Minnesota teammate Natalie Mlynkova went to Montreal in the second round. Toronto chose St. Cloud State forward Emma Gentry in the second round. Boston went with Minnesota-Duluth standout forward Olivia Mobley in the third round, while Vancouver selected U-M-D defender Nina Jobst-Smith in the third. Toronto used its third round choice on U-M-D forward Clara Van Wieren. Gopher forward Peyton Hemp went to Ottawa in the fourth round. New York picked St. Cloud State defender Dayle Ross in the fourth round. Ottawa’s fifth round selection was St. Cloud State goaltender Sanni Ahola. Toronto went back to the Minnesota-Duluth well in the sixth round taking Bulldogs defender Hanna Baskin. U-M-D forward Olivia Wallin went to Seattle in the sixth round.
