Frost Closes Out Series With Toronto

(Minnesota News Network St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota Frost got a game-winning goal from star forward Taylor Heise of Lake City to beat Toronto 4-3 last night in overtime in St. Paul. The victory gave the defending P-W-H-L champions a return trip to the Walter Cup finals, where they will face either Montreal or Ottawa. Minnesota won the series three-games-to-one, winning the final three games of the set. Frost forward Kendall Coyne Schofield scored twice in the win, while Kelly Pannek of Plymouth scored the Minnesota goal in regulation. The visiting Sceptres held a 2-0 lead early in the second period when Minnesota scored twice to tie it and make it a game. Neither team committed a penalty in the game. The other semifinal series show Ottawa with a 2-1 series lead with Game Four set for tomorrow in Ottawa.
