Frost win League Title for second year in a row
(St. Paul, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The Minnesota Frost won a second consecutive P-W-H-L Walter Cup championship with a 2-1 overtime win last night in St. Paul. Mound native Liz Schepers netted the game-winner in overtime, locking up a third straight victory in the best-of-five title series, which Minnesota claimed three-games-to-one. Kelly Pannek of Plymouth put the Frost up 1-0 in the second period. Minnesota goaltender Maddie Rooney of Andover made 33 saves to earn the win in net. All four games of the series went to overtime and all ended with 2-1 final scores. The Frost have won both league titles since the P-W-H-L began two seasons ago.
