Gilgeous-Alexander scores 40 to lead Thunder past Timberwolves 113-105
OKLAHOMA CITY — Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 40 points as the Oklahoma City Thunder extended their win streak to seven games, defeating the Minnesota Timberwolves 113-105 on Tuesday night.
Isaiah Hartenstein contributed a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, while Lu Dort and Jalen Williams added 14 points apiece for the Thunder (27-5). Despite trailing 52-46 at halftime, Oklahoma City dominated the third quarter, outscoring Minnesota 43-23 to seize a commanding lead.
Anthony Edwards led the Timberwolves (17-15) with 20 points and seven rebounds. His two free throws with 2:03 remaining brought Minnesota within 106-103, but Gilgeous-Alexander responded with a clutch three-pointer, hitting the 40-point mark for the third time in five games and pushing the Thunder’s lead to 109-103.
Naz Reid chipped in with 19 points, and Mike Conley scored 16 for Minnesota, which had won three consecutive games prior to this loss.
Looking ahead, the Timberwolves will host the Boston Celtics, while the Thunder will face the Los Angeles Clippers on Thursday night.
