Gopher Gymnastics gets into NCAA Tournament

(Minneapolis, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The 13th-ranked Golden Gopher women’s gymnastics team has been chosen for the N-C-A-A Regionals for a 30th straight season and will take part in a regional in Corvalis, Oregon a week from Friday. Minnesota head coach Jenny Hansen says they are happy to make the field again and the will use the time between now and the competition for continued improvement as well as for rest and refreshment. The Golden Gophers are in a regional with fourth-ranked U-C-L-A, fifth-rated Alabama, number-12 Utah, Iowa, Oregon State, Denver, Washington, and San Jose State. The top two teams from next Friday’s two separate brackets will advance to next Saturday’s regional finals with a chance to move on to the Championship Meet in Fort Worth on April 16-18.
