Gopher Volleyball Wins 10th Straight

(Milwaukee, WI) — The No. 12 Minnesota volleyball team took down the Marquette Golden Eagles on Sunday evening in straight sets. The scores were 28-26, 25-21, 25-21. Julia Hanson led Minnesota with 15 kills while Alex Acevedo had 11. Stella Swenson posted 42 assists and seven digs to pace the offense. Jordan Taylor had six kills with a career-high eight blocks while McKenna Garr and Kate Thibault had 17 digs each. The Gophers (10-1, 0-0 Big Ten) outhit the Golden Eagles (6-4, 0-0 BIG EAST) .265 to .203, tallying 51 kills to MU’s 49. Minnesota also led in blocks (13 to 3), digs (59 to 54), and assists (48 to 46). The No. 12 Gophers closed out the non-conference portion of their schedule with 10 straight wins after falling in the season-opener to No. 9 Texas A&M. Next up, the Gophers host Michigan State (10-0, 0-0 B1G) on Thursday at 7:30 P-M to open conference play.
