Gopher Women Suffer First Loss

The Golden Gopher women’s basketball team lost for the first time this season, falling at Kansas last night 63-57. Minnesota fell behind by ten points after one quarter, but rallied to within two points at half. Cold shooting was a problem for the Gophers, who hit just 5-of-23 from three-point range in the game. Tori McKinney led the way with 14 points for Minnesota, which fell to 4-1. Kansas got 24 points from star player S’Mya Nichols, moving to 5-0 on the season. The Gophers will play South Florida on Monday in Baha Mar Hoops Pink Flamingo Championship in Nassau, Bahamas.
