Gopher Womens BB fall to UCLA
(Minneapolis, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The Golden Gopher women’s basketball team dropped a home game to number-three U-C-L-A last night 76-58. The visiting Bruins jumped out to a 17-9 lead after one quarter of play and never looked back, outscoring Minnesota in every quarter. The Gophers struggled shooting the deep ball, going 4-for-17 from three-point range for 23.5-percent. Minnesota senior point guard Amaya Battle had 16 points and seven rebounds to lead the way. Kiki Rice poured in 25 points for U-C-L-A. The Gophers dipped to 12-5 overall and 3-3 in the Big Ten, while the Bruins improved to 16-1 overall and 6-0 in the conference. Minnesota will visit Washington on Sunday at 5 P-M. Meanwhile, the Gopher men’s basketball team will take on number-16 Illinois on Saturday in Champaign at 11 A-M.
