Gopher Wrestlers upset

(Minneapolis, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The seventh-ranked Golden Gopher wrestling team lost at home to number-18 South Dakota State last night at Williams Arena 18-14. Minnesota dipped to 4-2 on the season, while the visiting Jackrabbits improved to 2-0. A couple of key upset matches took S-D-S-U to the victory, including Brady Roard beating Jore Volke at 125-pounds, Julian Tagg winning over Vance VomBaur at 141, Luke Rasmussen beating Koy Kopke at heavyweight, and Cael Swensen knocked off Charlie Millard at 157 pounds. The Gophers are next in action against number-25 Little Rock in Mequon, Wisconsin on Thursday, December 4th.
