Gophers upset Iowa

(Minneapolis, MN/Minnesota News Network) — Langston Reynolds made 9-of-13 field goals to finish with a season-high 22 points, and Cade Tyson added 16 points, as Minnesota (10-5, 3-1 Big Ten) fought off a furious rally to win its fifth-straight game, 70-67, over No. 19 Iowa (12-3, 2-2 B1G) at Williams Arena. Head coach Niko Medved’s second home win against a Top 25 team helped the Gophers remain a perfect 9-0 at Williams Arena this season. The Gophers defeated No. 22 Indiana here, 73-64, on Dec. 3. All this while playing without injured starters Chancey Willis Jr. and Robert Vaihola. It’s the second-straight season with two Top 25 wins for Minnesota, which defeated No. 20 Michigan and No. 15 Oregon last season. The Gophers next will host Southern Cal on Friday night at Williams Arena for a 7:30 P-M tip.
