GOVERNOR LOOKING AT NEXT WEEK FOR SPECIAL SESSION
Governor Walz says the special session with state lawmakers is still days away but he believes it’s getting closer. The governor says a few working groups still need to finish their work on the budget before he can call the special session. He said the goal is still early to mid next week to get to the special session and get done. He hopes things can be wrapped up and to the revisors before Saturday. The governor says the first batch of layoff notices will need to go out tomorrow night to prepare state workers for a possible government shutdown. The deadline to avoid that is June 30.
