Governor Orders Flags at Half-Staff to Honor Minnesota Police Officer
[ST. PAUL, MN] – Governor Tim Walz has ordered all United States and Minnesota flags to fly at half-staff at all state buildings in the State of Minnesota from sunrise until sunset today (Monday, March 10), in honor and remembrance of Officer Felicia Reilly.
Retired St. Paul Police Officer Reilly died March 1st in Monticello, nearly 15 years after suffering a traumatic brain injury in the line of duty.
“Officer Felicia Reilly demonstrated selfless dedication and a deep commitment to serve and protect the people of Minnesota,” said Governor Walz. “An inspiration to many, Reilly will be remembered for her dedication, compassion, and resilience. I extend my deepest condolences to her family and loved ones.”
Individuals, businesses, and other organizations are also encouraged to join in lowering their flags.
A large law enforcement presence is expected at today’s funeral for Officer Reilly.
Officer Reilly will receive full honors during the funeral at Gustavus Adolphus Lutheran Church.
The public is invited to line the five-mile procession route from the church in St. Paul to the burial at Roselawn Cemetery in Roseville.
