Haliburton, Toppin Lead Pacers Past Timberwolves for Fifth Straight Win
INDIANAPOLIS, IN – Tyrese Haliburton posted a double-double with 24 points and 11 assists, while Obi Toppin knocked down six three-pointers and added 20 points to help the Indiana Pacers secure a 119-103 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Monday night.
Indiana extended its winning streak to five games and has now won seven of its last eight, staying ahead of Milwaukee in the race for the Eastern Conference’s No. 4 seed. Haliburton continued his impressive form, recording his 11th consecutive double-double. Six Pacers players finished with double-digit scoring, contributing to another strong offensive performance.
The Pacers hit 13 three-pointers, with Haliburton connecting on three. Minnesota, meanwhile, was led by Naz Reid’s 20 points, while Anthony Edwards added 17 despite being a game-time decision due to a hand injury. Rudy Gobert put up 16 points and 16 rebounds, but the Timberwolves struggled, dropping their third game in four outings.
Indiana set the tone early, never trailing in the game. A barrage of nine three-pointers in the third quarter helped the Pacers stretch their lead to 95-73, and Minnesota never got back within single digits. The Pacers have now won eight straight home games.
The Timberwolves are hitting a rough patch at a critical time. Since their seven-game winning streak ended, they’ve won just once and need to turn things around quickly to secure a top-six spot in the Western Conference standings.
Meanwhile, Indiana is playing some of its best basketball of the season. The Pacers have won the first four games of their five-game homestand, proving they can win tight contests, wild finishes, and dominant performances like this one.
Minnesota briefly cut the deficit to 65-57 early in the third quarter, but Indiana responded with a 23-12 run, fueled by six three-pointers, to put the game out of reach. The Pacers shot an impressive 9-for-14 from deep in the third quarter alone.
