Hunter Located with Aid of Drones

A hunter that was reported missing Saturday night in Kandiyohi County was located with the aid of a drone.

At just before 10pm, the Sheriff’s Office was notified of a 59-year-old Stewartville man that was missing in Burbank Township and was last seen at about 5:30pm.

Drones and a K9 unit were deployed and at just before 11pm, a drone located the missing hunter who appeared to be in distress as he was waving his arms at the drone.

A rescue team then entered the woods, located him, and brought him safely out just after 11:30pm.

Authorities say he was medically cleared by the New London Ambulance that was staged on scene.
