HUTCHINSON INVESTIGATING HIT-AND-RUN INVOLVING PEDESTRIAN

Hutchinson Police are investigating after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle Tuesday evening and the driver left the scene.

The pedestrian, an 80-year-old Hutchinson man was taken to Hutchinson Health for treatment.

Police say the vehicle was traveling east on South Grade Rd SW and the pedestrian was walking southbound in the crosswalk at Merrill St SW when he was struck.

Police say the vehicle involved appears to be midsize SUV, red in color, with possible front passenger side damage.

The incident happened at about 6pm.
