Hutchinson Working on Chicken Ordinance

City officials in Hutchinson are moving forward on drafting an ordinance that will allow residents to raise chickens.

City Administrator Matt Jaunich presented the city council Tuesday with a draft ordinance that, if approved, will allow residents to raise chickens.

Some of the changes to the ordinance include allowing six chickens, no roosters, setbacks from property lines, and education as part of the permitting process, which would more that likely be a informational video.
