In likely final Montreal start, Fleury has 1st shutout of the season in Wild’s 4-0 win

MONTREAL, QC – Marc-Andre Fleury recorded 19 saves for his first shutout of the season, leading the Minnesota Wild to a 4-0 victory over the Montreal Canadiens on Thursday night in what could be his final game in Montreal. The 40-year-old goaltender, who hails from Sorel-Tracy, just 50 miles northeast of Montreal, is set to retire after this season. Fleury, now with 76 career shutouts—including three at the Bell Centre—was cheered on by more than 100 family members and friends in attendance.

Liam Ohgren and Devin Shore each netted their first goals of the season, while Marco Rossi contributed a goal and an assist. Frederick Gaudreau capped the win with an empty-netter.

The Wild extended their perfect road trip to 3-0, having previously beaten Chicago 4-2 on Sunday and Toronto 3-1 on Wednesday.

Montreal’s Jakub Dobes made 23 saves in the loss.

Fleury improved to 11-5-1 on the season, marking his 21st year in the NHL. Meanwhile, the Canadiens are now on a four-game losing streak after a stretch in which they won 10 of 13.
