Jeanette Koehntop
Jeanette Koehntop, age 83 of Morris, Minnesota, passed away Monday, May 26, 2025, at her residence at Skyview Assisted Living in Morris, MN.
Visitation for Jeanette Koehntop will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, MN.
Visitation will continue from at the church on Thursday one hour prior to the service.
Funeral services for Jeanette Koehntop will be at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at Faith Lutheran Church in Morris, MN, with Reverend Michael Hanson officiating.
Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris, MN.
Jeanette Marie Messner was born on August 4, 1941, in Morris, Minnesota the daughter of Ray and Alice (Halvorson) Messner. She attended school in Hancock, graduating from Hancock High School, Class of 1959. She continued her education at The Swedish Hospital School of Nursing where she received her Registered Nursing degree.
Jeanette worked as a RN at the hospital in Morris. She married Darrel Koehntop on November 10, 1962, at the First Congregational Church in Hancock. They made their home on a farm 4 miles north of Morris where they raised hogs. Shortly after her marriage, she quit her job as a nurse to help Darrel with the hog operation. In 2007, Darrel and Jeanette built a house and moved into Morris.
Jeanette was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the Country Girls Homemakers. She enjoyed gardening, reading, setting jigsaw puzzles, cutting the grass, bicycle riding, looking at cookbooks, collecting pig memorabilia, helping on the farm with the hogs and taking lunch out to those working in the fields.
She is survived by her brother: Raymond (June) Messner of Hancock, MN; nieces and nephews: Roger (Bonnie) Koehntop of Morris, MN, Veronica Kramer of Barrett, MN, Robert (Shelley) Messner of Hancock, MN, Allen (Lisa) Messner of Fargo, North Dakota, and Laurie (Rick) Notch of Chokio, MN; and several great-nephews, great-nieces, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Ray and Alice; husband: Darrel Koehntop (2017); brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Maynard and Bertha Koehntop.
