Jefferson returns to practice
(Eagan, MN/Minnesota News Network) — Minnesota Vikings quarterback J-J McCarthy appears close to being able to throw to his best weapon on offense. Star wide receiver Justin Jefferson returned to Vikings practice on Monday for the first time in more than three weeks, taking part in a limited number of drills. Jefferson injured his left hamstring in training camp on July 24. He spoke with reporters after, calling it tough to miss, but a good transition to help younger players. Vikes head coach Kevin O’Connell also said that safety Josh Metellus did not sustain a serious injury when he was knocked out of last Thursday’s joint practice with New England, but he added that receiver Jalen Nailor is week-to-week with a hand injury. The Vikings will visit the Tennessee Titans for the final preseason game of the year on Friday night. The team has a practice scheduled for this afternoon in Eagan.
