Joan Kay Kubes

Joan Kay Kubes, age 74 of Belle Plaine, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at the
Hope Residence in Belle Plaine, MN. Memorial service will be on Thursday, November 6, 2025
at 1:00 p.m. at the Belle Plaine Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine, MN. Visitation will be one hour
prior to the service. Burial to follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Belle Plaine, MN.
Joan was born on July 26, 1951 to Rolan and Margaret (Oelfke) Seaver in New Prague, MN and
grew up in Belle Plaine and attended Belle Plaine schools. She was baptized and confirmed at
Trinity Lutheran Church in Belle Plaine, MN. She worked as a cook and food services at Belle
Plaine High school years ago and later married Jerry Kubes in October of 1979 they later
divorced. Joan lived in Belle Plaine most of her life, she enjoyed music and playing Bingo. She
has been a resident of the Hope Residence since 2017.
She is survived by her siblings; Judy (David) Bessel of Belle Plaine, MN, Joyce (Patrick) Hogan of
New Prague, MN, William “Bill” (Jan) Seaver of New Prague, MN, Robert (Barbara) Seaver of
Belle Plaine, MN, Janet Halverson of Crystal, MN and Jean Seaver of Belle Plaine, MN. Many
nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Donald, Lloyd and Glenn.
