John Francis “Jack” Feeney
John Francis “Jack” Feeney, age 87, of rural Le Sueur, passed away at his home on Monday morning, February 10, 2025.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Anne’s Catholic Church. Visitation will begin at the church on Friday morning with a 9:15 a.m. Knights of Columbus Rosary and conclude at 10:30 a.m. Following Mass, burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery, Le Sueur, followed by lunch at St. Anne's School. Jack was born on February 3, 1938, at the Feeney Farm in Tyrone Township, Le Sueur, to John and Catherine (Burns) Feeney. After graduating from Le Sueur High School, Jack stayed on the farm to help with farming and taking care of the cattle. Later, he worked as a custodian at the Le Sueur Community Center during winters and spent summers mowing lawns in the community and for the Nursery School and St. Anne’s.
Jack was a proud member of St. Anne’s and the Knights of Columbus. He loved bowling and was inducted into Southern Minnesota’s Bowling Hall of Fame. He enjoyed playing cards and spectating at youth sports events in town. He was a super fan of the Bulldog Girls Hockey team and loved watching his family compete.
Jack is survived by his niece, Barbara (Mark) Carlson of Le Sueur; nephew, Michael (Erin) Feeney of Le Sueur; sister-in-law, Maribeth Feeney of Le Sueur; great-nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Eric) Ross, Jesse Sprague, Jordan Carlson (Kala Hansen), Dylan Feeney, Logan Feeney, and Griffin Feeney; and great-great-nephews and great-niece, Owen Ross, James Sprague, and Adelaide Carlson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Mary Lucille Feeney, and brother Jim Feeney.
