Kandiyohi County Received a Grant to Rehabilitate a Wastewater Treatment Facility
The Minnesota Public Facilities Authority (MPFA) announced more than $265 million in loans and grants awarded to 27 wastewater and drinking water infrastructure projects during the first three months of the fiscal year. The funds help cities replace aging infrastructure and make system improvements to protect public health and improve water quality. Since its inception in 1987, the MPFA has provided $6.1 billion for public infrastructure programs statewide.
Among the projects funded are $22.36 million to Kandiyohi County for Phase Two of the rehabilitation of the wastewater treatment facility that includes a reduction in phosphorous discharge to meet permit requirements; over $628,000 for Evansville to improve the sanitary sewer collection system and install a new generator; and over $306,000 for Lowry to do a water main replacement and looping.
