KDUZ/KARP/KGLB Community Calendar

This summer the Hutchinson School District will be offering free breakfast and lunches to all kids ages 18 and under regardless of income, school district and other social guidelines.  Three separate sites will be offering meals to the public from NOW – Aug 21st (M-Th).  West Elementary will be Dine In Only, Tiger Elementary and The Aquatic / Rec Center will be offering To Go meals.  NEW this year, Tiger Elementary will be serving weekend meals on Thursdays.  Parents and children will be able to pick up lunch for Thurs, breakfast and lunch for Friday thru Sunday and Monday breakfast.  That’s 8 meals at one time!!  Dates & times are listed below. Volunteers are also appreciated if interested.

The Silver Lake American Legion Riders Motorcycle Run is Saturday, June 14th.  Registration at 9:30 am, Kickstands up at Noon.  Cost for ALR Members is $15, Non Members is $20.  The Ride will go through Gaylord, Redwood Falls, Willmar, Litchfield, and back to Silver Lake.  This is a Breast Cancer Fundraiser  Ride, Proceeds will go to Sabrina Groff.

The American Guild of Organists is presenting a concert of Organ Music on Tuesday, June 17th at 12:10 pm at Peace Lutheran Church in Hutchinson.  Dr. Chad Winterfeld is the head of the organ department at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter and will perform.  The recital is free and open to the public.  A free will offering will be received.

The Hutchinson American Legion Auxiliary Unit 96 will hold its monthly meeting Wednesday, June 18, 7pm, at the VFW.

The Winsted Legion is serving a Breakfast on Friday and Saturday, June 20/21st.  All you can eat for $15…Biscuits and Gravy, Scrambled Eggs, Pancakes, Ham, Wild Rice Sausage and more.  Proceeds benefit local veterans.

Cindy Wilson presents at the Renville County Historical Society on the Museum Grounds on Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 6 PM.  Cindy Wilson’s presentation on her two books, The Beautiful Snow: The Ingalls Family, The Railroads, and the Hard Winter of 1880-1881 & We Suffered Much: Charles Wood Irish and the Dakota Territory Railroad Survey of 1879-1881.  Admission is a Free Will Donation & item for the Renville County Foodshelf.

2BCONTINUED hosts a Suicide Loss Support Group, a supportive and safe environment for adult suicide loss survivors to share and connect with others who have also experienced the loss of a loved one to suicide. This group meet every 2nd Monday of the month from 7:00-8:30 pm at 2BCONTINUED’s office – 305 7th St E, Glencoe, MN 55336. The group is led by Brooke Dingels, a trained loss support group facilitator. Brooke lost her father to suicide in 2019, and connecting with people who have experienced similar loss has been helpful to her, and she wants to offer that same hope to others.  (2025 Dates: July 14, Aug 11, Sept 8, Oct 13, Nov 10, Dec 8)

Alumni and Friends of Brownton High School, are asked to save the date of Saturday, July 26, 2025, as that will be when the next Brownton All School Reunion will be held. A mailing was sent to graduates of Brownton High School with more information. Graduates of McLeod West High School are also invited. The Reunion Event will be held Saturday, July 26 at the Brownton Area Civic Center with a Social beginning at 5:00 pm, meal at 6:30 pm, followed by a program and music. The Reunion will be held in conjunction with the ‘Brownton Days’, also being held that weekend. More information can be found on Facebook, at “Brownton All School Reunion”.
