KOC, B-Flo, and Darnold nominated for awards, O’Connell wins one
(Undated) — Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell was named N-F-L Coach of the Year by the Football Writers Association of America yesterday. He was also named a finalist for N-F-L Coach of the Year in a separate vote conducted by the Associated Press, which is generally considered the “official” Coach of the Year award. O’Connell was a finalist for that honor with Detroit’s Dan Campbell, Denver’s Sean Payton, Washington’s Dan Quinn, and Kansas City coach Andy Reid. The winner will be announced on February 6th. In addition, Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores is a finalist for N-F-L Assistant Coach of the Year, while Minnesota quarterback Sam Darnold is a finalist for N-F-L Comeback Player of the Year.
