LA Powers Past Minnesota

The Los Angeles Dodgers put an end to a three-game losing streak with a 5-2 win over the Minnesota Twins in L-A last night. Will Smith came up big at the plate for the Dodgers, going 2-for-4 with two solo home runs. Shohei Ohtani belted his 35th homer of the season and Andy Pages (pah-hez) hit his 18th. Dustin May earned the win on the mound after throwing four-and-two-thirds scoreless innings of relief. The Dodgers remain atop the N-L West at 59-42. Byron Buxton hit a lead-off homer, while Kody Clemens had an R-B-I in the losing effort. David Festa was tagged with his fourth loss as the Twins fell to 48-52. Twins manager Rocco Baldelli says starting and losing pitcher David Festa did alright, but got off to a rough start.

The same two teams play tonight in L-A. Coverage begins at 8:30pm on KNUJ and SAM 107.3.
