LIKE IT OR NOT, MOSQUITO SEASON IS HERE

Keep that mosquito spray handy.  Alex Carlson with the Metropolitan Mosquito Control District says there was quite a bit of hatching from the rain last week so a lot of mosquito larvae are still in the water.  Because of the cold temperatures, it slows them down a little bit, so a lot of them are still in the water and haven’t emerged yet.  So that’s why helicopters have been out trying to get to every source of active mosquito larvae.  Carlson says with the warm-up coming, mosquitoes will likely start to emerge this weekend into next week.
