LOCAL FIREFIGHTERS ATTEMPT TO WALK IN THE BOOTS OF 9/11 FIRST RESPONDERS

Local firefighters honored first responders who went into the World Trade Center towers on 9/11 by carrying an extra 50 pounds and climbing stairs at POET Bioprocessing in Lake Crystal Thursday.  The event features firefighters in full gear going up stairs about 15 times, just like rescuers did on 9/11.  The event is a fund raiser for the National Fallen Firefighter Foundation.   At least $3800 had been raised during this year’s event.  Officials say the ultimate goal is to make sure people never forget the events of 9/11 as well as all the innocent lives that were lost.
