Lois Roggenbuck
Lois Roggenbuck, age 88 of of Ortonville, Minnesota, and formerly of rural Rosen, MN, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025, at Fairway View in Ortonville, MN.
Visitation for Lois Roggenbuck will be held Thursday, January 23, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Mundwiler Funeral Home followed with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
Visitation will continue from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Friday. January 24, 2025, at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank, South Dakota.
Memorial services for Lois Roggenbuck will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 24, 2025, at Mundwiler Funeral Home in Milbank, SD, with Pastor Nathaniel Brown officiating.
Lois Katherine Roggenbuck was born on April 15, 1936, in Appleton, Minnesota, to Pete and Margaret (Rein) Classen. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith.
On September 4, 1960, Lois married Valerius “Val” Roggenbuck. The couple initially lived in San Pedro, California, while Val served in the military, before settling in Milbank, South Dakota, for three years. They were blessed with two sons, Steven and Kevin. After living briefly in rural Madison, the family moved to rural Odessa, where they spent twelve years. In 1975, they relocated to a farm near Rosen, where Lois managed the dairy farm, milking cows while raising their children. In 2023, Lois and Val moved from their farm to Fairway View in Ortonville.
Lois had a passion for sewing, quilting, and crafting. She loved nature and animals, often providing care for those in need, and had a special affection for horses and her house cats. Above all, Lois cherished her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Valerius “Val” Roggenbuck of Ortonville, MN; sons: Steven (Linda) Roggenbuck of Bellingham, MN, Kevin (Suzan) Roggenbuck of Milbank, SD, and Michael Classen of Big Stone City, SD; six grandchildren: Dustin (Amy) Roggenbuck and their children: Graham and Max; Jason (Tia) Roggenbuck and their children: Brooks, Mila, and Asher; Dillan (Heather) Roggenbuck and their children: Linden, Lane, Clay, and one-on-the-way; Jorden (Kirsten) Roggenbuck and their children: Reid and Luella – all of Ortonville, MN; Nicole (Wylie) Pays and their children: Jameson, Kario, Oliver, and Allie, and Jennifer (Michael) Brus both of Summit, SD; one sister: Patricia “Pat” Folk of Sioux Falls, SD.
