Lynx Fast Start Fizzles In Loss To Fever
(Minnesota News Network- Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Lynx blew an early 13-point lead at lost the W-N-B-A Commissioner’s Cup championship game to Indiana last night at the Target Center 74-59. The Lynx jumped out to a 27-13 lead in the second quarter before the visiting Fever went on a 34-7 run to close out the first half and start the second half. Indiana held a 48-34 lead in the third quarter at that point and really never looked back. Minnesota was led by Alanna Smith with 15 points, while star player Napheesa Collier was just 6-for-18 from the floor and scored 12 points. Indiana had five players in double figures with Natasha Howard scoring 16 points and grabbing 12 rebounds. Aliyah Boston had a double-double for the Fever with 12 points and 11 boards. Caitlin Clark did not play for Indiana in the game as she has a leg injury. The loss does not affect the regular season standings. The 14-2 Lynx host the Mystics tomorrow night at 7 P-M in downtown Minneapolis.
