Lynx make big comeback, clinch first round series

(San Jose, CA/Minnesota News Network) — Down by as much as 17 points the Lynx stormed from behind to beat the Valkyries 75-74 to move on in the playoffs. Golden State led 41-28 at the half and 63-49 through three quarters. But the final frame saw Minnesota fly start on an 11-0 run and rode that momentum to a late lead. The Valyries did have a last second jumper at the buzzer but it hit the rim and instead, the Lynx are off to the semifinals for the second straight season. Napheesa Collier had 24 points for Minnesota while Kayla McBride added 18. The Lynx will face the winner between the Liberty and Mercury. The Mercury won 86-60 on Wednesday night to tie the series at 1-1. The final game in the best of three series will be Friday night at 8 P-M from Phoenix.
