MAN DIES IN ST. PETER GARAGE FIRE

A Pemberton man died in a garage fire early Sunday morning on the 1000 block of Washington Avenue in St. Peter.  Fire crews were called at 12:21 am and the North Mankato air truck got paged to the scene for mutual help with refilling air packs.  When crews arrived they were told there was potentially someone inside the garage which was fully engulfed.  A GoFundMe page identifies the victim as 68-year-old Curt Vogel.  The fundraiser has been set up for his son Casey Vogel of St. Peter who owns the property where the detached garage was located.  The investigation is ongoing.
