MAN ESCAPES FROM BROWN COUNTY EVALUATION CENTER

Law enforcement is investigating after a Winnebago man escaped from the Brown County Evaluation Center Sunday morning.  43-year-old Cain Buster Waltermann is facing felony escape from custody charge and a felony first-degree damage to property charge, which were filed Wednesday in Brown County District Court.  Court documents say New Ulm Police were called to the Evaluation Center Sunday morning at 5:12 after Waltermann had escaped.  A broken window was found on the west side of the facility.  Video footage showed Waltermann running south behind residences behind the detox center.  A person was seen getting into a white or silver pickup and driving north on Front Street.  He has not been located.  Waltermann had been brought to Brown County from Faribault County and placed on hold.  He was arrested for felony receiving stolen property and felony firearm possession.
